What is seen is transitory. What is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18
Mark Christopher Brandt has been performing and recording professionally since 1977. He has attained a reputation as one of the leading creative forces in the Washington D.C. music scene with an uncompromising integrity and a legacy of students boasting scholarships to major musical colleges and universities all over the country, as well as careers as successful as his own.
Mark has produced the highest quality musical artwork - presented consistently with state of the art production - since he first entered the international recording scene in 1995 with the release of his debut recording, Veritas.
His East Coast Duo, working full time since it’s inception in 2008, is one of the most reputable and in demand jazz groups on the East Coast. Content to work in the “covert” world of corporate functions, weddings, and private parties, the duo features Mark on acoustic piano and Shaun Jurek on acoustic bass.
In 2017, Mark began a musical collaboration with the Bulgarian-born master flutist, Yana Nikol. The two have released several projects together and they continue to push the envelope as individual artists of note with their freedom as improvisors and their remarkable and uncanny chemistry together.
Mark Christopher Brandt has maintained a full time performance schedule while remaining consistent in artistic output and quality on par with those at the national level of distinction. He cites his disciplined life of prayer, practice and exercise as the secret to his success, along with his personal code as a Catholic Christian: "God. Family. Career. In that order."
